Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll and Benefits team at Clio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the administration of payroll for all company employees, ensuring compliance with regulations across geographies, and providing thought leadership and mentorship to our Payroll Clerks.
Key Responsibilities- Manage payroll administration, including payroll reconciliation reports and schedules, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain payroll records in our HRIS system and make recommendations to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Assist with answering benefit questions and provide guidance on extended health and dental plans.
- Reconcile payroll and manage the flow of information to the general ledger to ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Prepare provincial and federal reporting and remittances, including WCB, WSIB, EHT, ROEs, and tax forms.
- Prepare year-end reconciliations and tax form preparation, including T4s, T4As, W2, and Form 2220s.
- Review information for new hires, resignations, and terminations to ensure accuracy.
- Create and maintain operating manuals for payroll and insurance processes.
- Assist with documentation and updating Standard Operating Procedures.
- At least 3-5 years of payroll experience.
- Knowledge of existing and research of new legislation, with the ability to enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on needed actions.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and the use of formulas.
- Ability to teach and knowledge transfer with junior payroll clerks.
- Reliable source of knowledge and a resource for employees and junior members of the team.

We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range, which is $76,700 to $90,300 to $103,900 CAD.
