Job Description:

**Job Title:** Payroll Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at RECRUITMENT PARTNERS INC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process semi-monthly salary and hourly payroll for all employees.
  • Review timesheets and audit data to ensure compliance with company policies and employment standards.
  • Complete all payroll-related functions, including coordinating timely transmission of all standard and non-standard payments.
  • Prepare and reconcile required payroll remittances for all government and non-government related bodies.
  • Work closely with the People and Culture team to ensure all employee payroll information is correct and up-to-date.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements, assist with year-end balancing and reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP).
  • Provide accurate and timely communication and training to employees and managers regarding payroll and benefits functions.
  • Document and maintain processes for all related payroll procedures.

Requirements:

  • Payroll certification is required.
  • Post-secondary diploma in accounting, business, human resources, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of Canadian payroll experience.
  • 2+ years of intermediate to expert knowledge of AVANTI payroll/time systems.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capacity to prepare general journal entries and generate informational reports from raw data.
