About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Safety Professional to join our team. This full-time position is based out of our corporate office in Long Sault, Ontario.

Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage safety on-site, prioritizing hazards and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate safety requirements and expectations to employees, setting a positive example for a safe workplace culture.
  • Oversee daily operations, responding promptly to project safety needs and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on safety policies, procedures, and best practices, including new hire orientation, annual refresher training, and stand-down meetings.
  • Prepare and present daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings to reinforce safety awareness.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to identify risks, assess compliance, and prevent accidents.
  • Develop effective strategies to mitigate risks and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations, issuing disciplinary action for non-compliance.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of construction health and safety experience in Ontario.
  • Expertise in Canadian Occupational Health & Safety Act (CCOHS) and construction regulations.
  • Valid NCSO preferred.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong investigative skills, including Root Cause Analysis.
  • Current First Aid CPR + AED and naloxone injection training.
  • Working at heights training.
  • Certification(s) or other applicable qualifications in Construction Safety and Training.
