Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Beam Suntory. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our steam plant and facilities maintenance departments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise a team of unionized power plant operators and ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements.
  2. Manage equipment operation and maintenance, including scheduling and coordinating services with external vendors.
  3. Monitor and control utility supplies and usage, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  4. Develop and maintain operational budgets and expenditures, as well as prepare and review incident reports.
  5. Promote a strong safety and 5S culture within the department, supporting TRACC initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Active member of ABSA, with a 3rd Class Operating Engineers License for Alberta.
  • 5-8 years of supervisory experience in production process, preferably in the food/beverage or chemical industry.
  • Union exposure, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
