TreowGroup Recruitment is partnering with a mid-sized manufacturing and distribution company specializing in industrial and commercial products. This company has multiple locations across Southwestern Ontario and takes pride in staying at the forefront of industry trends to meet customers' evolving needs.

Job Summary

The Procurement Manager will oversee procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationships in a fast-paced environment while continuously implementing new products and sourcing new vendors. This role involves collaboration with internal teams across sales, operations, and manufacturing to ensure the seamless delivery of goods across multiple warehouse locations.

Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to maximize profitability.
  2. Drive new product growth by researching, evaluating, and sourcing vendors and products.
  3. Manage vendor relationships, addressing performance issues and discrepancies.
  4. Ensure inventory replenishment across multiple locations to meet customer demand.
  5. Analyze supply chain data and recommend process improvements for efficiency.
  6. Manage pricing strategies, including cost-based price lists and special tender pricing.
  7. Implement inventory control measures to reduce backorders and optimize stock levels.
  8. Create and manage monthly reports on vendor performance and rebates.
Requirements
  1. 5-7 years of purchasing experience in the hard-goods distribution industry.
  2. Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Materials Management, or a related field.
  3. Technical expertise in relevant areas (e.g., Industrial Engineering) is a plus.
  4. Experience managing a high volume of SKUs within hard goods distribution.
  5. Proficiency in ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
  6. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships.
  8. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle changing priorities.
  9. Initiative and problem-solving abilities to tackle challenges as they arise.
