Inspector - Safety and Security Leader

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspector to join our team at CN. As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our employees, customers, and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage front-line police officers and activities within assigned divisions, including scheduling, performance measurement, and communication with subordinates.
- Ensure the protection of employees and customers against all criminal acts, and prosecute offenders by planning, directing, and managing CN Police Operations.
- Identify priorities to address across the territory and develop action plans for implementation in collaboration with subordinates.
- Act as a resource person for interpretation and application of company policies, and provide advice and recommendations to departmental managers on police and security matters.
- Develop good relationships with external agencies and municipal police to raise awareness of railway operation safety and security.
- Review practices with operations managers to reduce incidents and improve security.
Requirements
- Police certification
- University management certificate
- 10 years of policing experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
- Proven management skills for effective management of human, material, and financial resources
- Strong leadership ability, including the ability to direct, coach, and provide feedback
- Demonstrated discretion to deal with highly confidential information
- Strong strategic thinking and planning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A good understanding of the legislative framework surrounding investigations
- Ability to prioritize important issues and work under strict deadlines
- Computer efficiency
