About the Role

CN is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspector to lead our safety and security efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the protection of our employees, customers, and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise front line police officers and activities within assigned divisions, including scheduling, performance measurement, and communication with subordinates.
  • Ensure safety and security in emergency situations, such as internal or external strikes, derailments, and accidents.
  • Plan, direct, and manage CN Police Operations to protect employees and customers against criminal acts and prosecute offenders.
  • Identify priorities and develop action plans to address them in collaboration with subordinates.
  • Act as a resource person for company policies and provide advice and recommendations to departmental managers on police and security matters.
  • Develop good relationships with external agencies and municipal police to raise awareness of railway operation safety and security.
  • Review practices with operations managers to reduce incidents and improve security.
Requirements
  • Police certification
  • University management certificate
  • 10 years of policing experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Proven management skills for effective management of human, material, and financial resources
  • Strong leadership ability, including directing, coaching, and providing feedback
  • Demonstrated discretion to deal with highly confidential information
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A good understanding of the legislative framework surrounding investigations
  • Ability to prioritize important issues and work under strict deadlines
  • Computer efficiency
