Job Description

**Job Title:** Facilities Maintenance Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Sheriff Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial and industrial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems to prevent equipment failures and ensure the safety of our tenants.
  • Tenant Service Calls: Respond promptly to service calls from tenants, including changing lights, heating/cooling issues, and other maintenance requests.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the appearance and safety of our properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and meet our high standards.
  • Building Automation and Security: Operate and maintain building automation and security systems, including computer systems and access control.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions or recommendations to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractors and ensure they adhere to our building guidelines and standards.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with our Operations Supervisor and Property Management team on building and tenant issues.
  • Flexibility: Work staggered hours to accommodate the needs of our tenants, including statutory holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Hands-on Maintenance: Perform hands-on general cleaning, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC repairs, as well as other miscellaneous tasks as required.
  • Procurement: Obtain quotes, order materials and supplies as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in building operations, preferably in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with safety and fire codes, WHMIS procedures, and all facets of building operations and maintenance.
  • Skills: Proactive problem-solving, excellent computer and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
