About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diabetes Educator to work with us on a temporary, full-time basis (12 months) at our Barrie location. As a hybrid position, you will be based on clinic needs and will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans for patients, focusing on diabetes management and secondary health conditions.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide education and coaching to patients on self-management skills, including insulin administration, SMBG, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Conduct patient follow-ups in person or remotely, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based methods and best practices in diabetes care.
  • Participate in research studies and provide diet counseling for patients enrolled in these studies.
  • Teach evening virtual workshops and complete community outreach events annually.
What We're Looking For
  • A valid RD license and good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Experience teaching and counseling individuals and groups.
  • Must obtain or be working towards CDE designation.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
