Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Killam Health Centre. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for performing procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments, working closely with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and analyze biological specimens, conduct X-ray examinations, ECGs, and report results.
- Prepare patients, perform venipuncture and micropuncture, maintain routine equipment, and ensure quality control procedures are in place.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing situations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians, demonstrating tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Practice radiation protection, infection control, and safety techniques, adhering to applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Completion of a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
- Recent experience as a CLXT performing procedures in a core laboratory and general diagnostic imaging, including hospital-affiliated training programs.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, with good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and promote good teamwork.
- Recent experience in the past two years with laboratory equipment, including ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XS 1000i, and Vitros XT3400.
- Experience with diagnostic imaging equipment, including DI-Carestream DRX Ascend X-ray System and Carestream Direct View CR 825 System.
- ECG experience with Mac 5500 and Holter Monitor experience with Seer Lite.
- LIS experience with Muse and Agfa PACS experience.
- Connect Care experience an asset.
