Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Killam Health Centre. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for performing procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments, working closely with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and analyze biological specimens, conduct X-ray examinations, ECGs, and report results.
- Prepare patients, perform venipuncture and micropuncture, and maintain routine equipment.
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed and supplies are maintained.
- Work effectively in a team environment, communicating with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure seamless care.
- Completion of a diploma in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT) from an accredited program.
- Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
- Recent experience in laboratory and diagnostic imaging, including hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and specimen collection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to new ideas and change, with a demonstrated desire to further own knowledge and skills.
- Recent experience with laboratory equipment, including ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XS 1000i, and Vitros XT3400.
- Experience with diagnostic imaging equipment, including DI-Carestream DRX Ascend X-ray System and ECG-Mac 5500.
- Knowledge of LIS-Muse and Agfa PACS systems.
