Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Killam Health Centre. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for performing procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments, working closely with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze biological specimens, conduct X-ray examinations, ECGs, and report results.
  • Prepare patients, perform venipuncture and micropuncture, maintain routine equipment, and ensure quality control procedures are in place.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to promote good teamwork and adapt to stressful situations.
  • Practice effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety techniques.
  • Interpret, explain, and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
  • Recent experience as a CLXT performing procedures in a core laboratory and general diagnostic imaging, including hospital-affiliated training programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, with good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and promote good teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent experience in the past two years with laboratory equipment, including ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XS 1000i, and Vitros XT3400.
  • Experience with diagnostic imaging equipment, including DI-Carestream DRX Ascend X-ray System and ECG-Mac 5500.
  • Knowledge of LIS-Muse and Agfa PACS systems, with experience in Connect Care an asset.
