Job Title: Supervisor of Housing Advocacy and Eviction Prevention

Native Child and Family Services of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to lead our Housing Advocacy and Eviction Prevention team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Housing Advocates/Eviction Prevention Workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to Indigenous community members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a team of Housing Advocates/Eviction Prevention Workers to ensure the delivery of culturally grounded programming and services.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and program guidelines to ensure compliance with Funder and NCFST requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Housing to ensure program continuity and comprehensive direction for staff.
  • Ensure the physical safety of staff, community members, and physical buildings.
  • Provide crisis management and de-escalation guidance and support as needed.
  • Compile and review program data for funding reports and ensure timely submission.
  • Manage staff schedules, budgets, and expenditures in consultation with the Manager of Housing.
  • Attend housing network and funder meetings to represent the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in the Human Services field or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous approaches to well-being and cultural knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership, conflict management, and mediation skills.
  • Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources, tenant rights, and housing issues.
