**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nutrition Specialist to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). **About the Role:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of clients' nutritional needs, developing personalized intervention strategies, and implementing effective programs aimed at promoting healthy eating habits and improving overall well-being. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of nutrition theory and practice.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' nutritional status and develop targeted intervention plans;
  • Provide education and counseling on healthy eating practices, nutrition planning, and meal preparation techniques;
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote nutrition awareness and advocacy;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and regulations in the field of nutrition.

**Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have a solid educational background in dietetics or nutrition, with a Bachelor's Degree being the minimum requirement. Two years of relevant experience is an asset, particularly in community health settings or working with First Nation populations. Fluency in English is mandatory, while fluency in Cree or French is an asset. Your expertise should encompass various clinical skills, including community health, home care, geriatric, and pediatric care.
