About the Role:

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is seeking a skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake preventative maintenance and repairs to building equipment and respond to work orders
  • Ensure the safe and continual operation of pools, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms
  • Assist with materials management and provide support to the Facility Manager with department budgets
  • Perform light duty cleaning, project cleaning, general cleaning, snow removal, and laundry service
  • Ensure the safety of all members, property, and staff by following established Workplace Health & Safety practices and procedures

Requirements:

  • High School education; completion of courses offered as part of the Building Operator Certificate an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in skilled trades and/or building maintenance
  • Standard First Aid and CPR; WHMIS certified; other Health & Safety certifications and/or knowledge an asset
  • Excellent organization skills; basic computer skills (Excel, Email, Internet, Bldg Automation Systems)
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills developed through progressively responsible experience in a supervisory role
