Head Pastry Chef

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team at The Praguery. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality pastries and desserts.
Key Responsibilities:- Paste Production: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
- Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Baking Supervision: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure that all products meet established standards.
- Cake Decorating: Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to a high standard.
- Scheduling: Draw up production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Staff Training: Train new staff members in pastry production techniques.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Skills: Dependability, reliability, and strong teamwork skills are essential.
- Qualifications: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and relevant training or certification in pastry arts.
You will work in a fast-paced bakery environment with a moderate noise level and require standing for extended periods.
Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
