We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Vantage Community Services Society. As a Child and Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to adolescents in a group home setting. Your primary goal will be to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement life skills workshops to help clients develop essential skills for independent living
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention, as well as resolve conflict situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients to ensure comprehensive support
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, providing emotional support and guidance as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Child and Youth Care or Social Work
  • Experience working with adolescents in a group home setting, an asset
  • Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle for transportation
  • Certifications in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Mental Health First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), an asset
