Role Overview

As a Regional Estate Specialist at Scotiabank, you will play a key role in supporting the Estate and Trust (ETC) team in their daily activities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to ETCs, including managing the flow of mail and couriers, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies, and triaging emails, calls, and requests.
  • Supporting ETCs in their efforts to conduct business in a digital fashion, including scheduling and confirming client appointments, and assisting with travel arrangements.
  • Facilitating business development and advisor education opportunities, including scheduling seminars and webinars, and managing logistics.
  • Providing quality assurance support to ensure new business is submitted in good order, including reviewing documentation and reporting.
  • Championing a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the Estate and Trust and/or wealth management industry.
  • Industry accreditation (Certificate in Estate and Trust Administration) would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of legal documents such as Wills, Trust Deeds, and Powers of Attorney is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English-French) is an asset.
  • High attention to detail and solid follow-through capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize several requirements at once and while under pressure.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated initiative, pro-activity, and sense of responsibility.
  • Dedicated to service excellence for internal and external clients.
  • Ability to effectively manage change.

Language Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French due to the nature of the role, which involves working closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English, reporting to a manager from head office who is an English speaker, and serving English-speaking clientele.
