We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to work in various long term and acute care facilities in the Kawartha Lakes area. This is an exciting opportunity for you to provide top-notch nursing care while earning above-average wages with travel compensation and accommodation.

Job Summary

This role requires you to provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and within the scope of practice of an RPN. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet resident needs.
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Manage medications and narcotics safely and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Ability to work with persons who have infectious diseases.
  • A BLS Certificate and current first aid and CPR certification.
  • Proof of current immunizations for MMRV and negative TB skin test within one year.
  • A Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shift times, including 8- or 12-hour shifts.
  • Willingness to 'float' from unit to unit as needed.
