What You Will Do

As an Engineering Manager on the Terminal Payment and Commerce Experience team at Stripe, you will oversee the launch and scale of Stripe Terminal's Unified Commerce experiences. Your responsibilities will include driving new end-customer and merchant features, building POS integrations from the ground up to support large-scale enterprise, and managing processes to help the team do its best work.

You will be responsible for working with Stripe leaders across the company to create and drive toward the vision of Stripe's Unified Commerce offering, bringing in-person and online payments together. This includes driving the roadmap and priorities for your team, supporting the engineering team in achieving a high level of technical excellence and stability, and recruiting excellent engineers in collaboration with Stripe's recruiting team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement the unified commerce strategy, leveraging expertise in payment methods, gift cards, and point-of-sale connectors to build scalable and resilient systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive feature development and integration across enterprise and SaaS platforms, including surcharging and gift card capabilities
  • Lead technical projects with internal and external dependencies and impact across multiple teams, ensuring seamless execution and delivery
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and learning to drive business growth and customer satisfaction

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership across Mobile, API, and backend development teams; demonstrated broad technical leadership
  • Built diverse teams to tackle challenging technical problems, leveraging expertise in payment methods, gift cards, and point-of-sale connectors
  • Thrived in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts, with a proven ability to listen well and internalize the best ideas from all over the organization
  • Understanding of how to build and manage scalable, resilient, and observable systems across the stack, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $208,600 - $313,000 CAD, based on industry standards and location. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends.
