We are seeking a skilled Setup Technician/Operator to join our team at our Thornmount facility in Scarborough. The ideal candidate will be flexible to work all shifts and possess a strong mechanical aptitude, technical mindset, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines to ensure optimal performance and quality.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect any issues and take corrective action to prevent downtime.
  • Adjust machine components, tension, and pressure to meet product specifications.
  • Regulate machine flow or speed to maintain production efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines and equipment to prevent malfunctions.
  • Train Packaging Equipment Operators to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist with production on lines as required and source parts through online maintenance programs.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging.
  • Engineering/Technical Education background.
  • Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset.
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment, such as Bartelt and food scales (Ishida).
Competencies:
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
