Belvika Trade & Packaging Ltd. is a leading contract packaging company specializing in precision packing of dry foods, chocolate, and confectionary products. With over 500,000 ft2 of facilities, we have grown to be one of the largest co-packers of chocolate, confectionary, and snack products in Canada.
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Equipment Technician to join our Thornmount facility in Scarborough for the Afternoon shift. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines.
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products.
- Adjust machine components, machine tension, and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
- Regulate machine flow or speed.
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur and report malfunctions to a Supervisor.
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
- Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment.
- Monitor and perform preventative maintenance on the production line.
- Train Packaging Equipment Operators.
- Assist with production on lines as required.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging.
- Engineering/Technical Education background.
- Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset.
