Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as developing and implementing effective safety protocols to prevent injuries and accidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
  • Investigate and report on workplace incidents and injuries, and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide training and orientation to new employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC) to enhance safety practices and promote a positive safety culture.
Requirements
  • University certificate or diploma in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) or Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) programs.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, with recent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of OH&S legislation and regulatory requirements, particularly WorkSafeBC.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
Working Conditions

This role requires flexibility to attend different shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) to interact with employees and ensure safety protocols are followed. Occasional travel between the two British Columbia facilities is expected.
