Training Specialist for Frontline Development

About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced Training Specialist to join our Learning and Development team. In this full-time, permanent position, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering competency-focused training programs that meet the needs of YVR's frontline employees and other departments.
Your primary objective will be to create engaging onboarding, engagement, and leadership training programs that empower employees to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to research, write, and develop interactive instructor-led and online course content, including materials and modules for in-class and on-the-job training.
You'll also lead and organize training sessions, develop assessment and evaluation methods to measure skill retention and application, and collaborate with external partners to continually evaluate and improve training materials and plans.
To ensure all training materials and documentation remain up-to-date and accurate, you'll work closely with subject matter experts to revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other critical documents.
Requirements- Minimum 5 years of experience in training, with a focus on creating and implementing competency-based training programs
- Post-secondary degree in Business Management or Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Professional designations in training and facilitation, such as Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or Certified Training Practitioner (CTP), are considered assets
- Proven presentation and group facilitation skills, with experience engaging adult learners
- Strong experience in learning & development, human resources, leadership, and management skills training
- Exceptional understanding of airport operations and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively
- Significant computer skills, including MS Teams, online training module development, and course content creation
Vancouver Airport Authority offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a salary range of $68,011 to $88,886 per annum, based on 37.5 hours per week. This is tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
