Senior Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Manager to oversee our distribution center/warehouse, transportation, and logistics for our Canadian facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise employees
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Participating on day-to-day duties and being hands-on when necessary to meet business goals

Requirements:

  • Experience managing a smaller distribution/logistics center
  • Experience as a Manager when you oversaw a smaller warehouse team (20 people or less) and you are comfortable to drive a forklift, when it is required
  • Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and bar code technology
  • Must have direct WMS implementation experience with a top ERP system (Oracle/SAP WMS modules) and/or top WMS application product (Manhattan Associates, Red Prairie)
  • Prior experience managing domestic and international transportation of consumer goods
  • Logistics knowledge of ocean freight, small package, and customs compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Implementation lead for Catalyst, Manhattan & Associates or other WMS software
