We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Smash Kitchen and Bar. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and inventory management.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for kitchen operations.
- Prepare and submit reports on kitchen performance, highlighting areas for improvement and suggesting solutions.
- Establish work schedules and delegate tasks to kitchen staff, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Support the integration of newcomers and refugees into our kitchen team, providing mentorship and training as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, promoting cultural competency and awareness within our team.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
