About the Role

The Government of Alberta seeks a highly skilled and experienced System Team Lead to oversee its critical Applications and Systems. Reporting directly to the PACT Manager, this role is responsible for managing teams that support daily operations and emergency responses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Incident Management Team (IMT) resources, key stakeholders, and ministry partners to ensure timely resolution of priorities and issues.
  • Recommend continuous improvement of IMT services, including conducting business analysis, engaging stakeholders, and conducting fit/gap analysis.
  • Advise on Information Management and Communications technological advancements in software development, systems support, and user support practices, advocating for the adoption of best practices-based strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and train on standards, policies, and best practices relating to the systems managed by PACT.
  • Identify opportunities for business improvement through technology, focusing on user-centred enhancements.
  • Maintain alignment with cross-government Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Information Management (IM) standards, developing documented standards and procedures following industry best practices.
  • Develop user procedures and reporting tools that promote end-user independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Provide advice and consultation on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to address gaps in service delivery, ensuring compliance with Information Management and Information Technology policies, regulatory requirements, and legislation.
