About the Role:

The Maintenance Planner at EllisDon will be responsible for developing maintenance plans and schedules to support the Engineering Team's requirements and available capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Purchase order releases against established "blanket" agreements in the Dynamics 365 system, collaborating with the corporate Purchasing Manager on expiring agreements.
  • Manage the transactional process of maintenance planning in the CMMS to ensure accurate maintenance orders and purchase releases based on required dates, collaborating with the Facilities Team to manage capacity constraints.
  • Ensure timely completion of facilities work orders and expedite routine past-due work orders to support the maintenance schedule.
  • Generate work orders using the CMMS and release them to the Engineering Team per the maintenance schedule.
  • Develop and execute improvements to focus on inventory reduction and material shortages.
  • Report established planning metrics to support the overall Facilities metrics.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in adapting and applying procedures to address day-to-day activities.
  • Interact regularly with functional department staff heads and other internal stakeholders, as well as external relationships with suppliers, customers, and other EllisDon employees as required.

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS and experience in a maintenance planning role within large facilities.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, Access, etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles and working knowledge of Maintenance management preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a sense of initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player, responding effectively to inquiries from internal clients.
