Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at Inter-citi Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our transportation department, ensuring that all logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize efficiency.
    • Monitor departmental performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Planning and Organization
    • Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
    • Plan for changes to schedules and policies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare reports for senior management, providing insights into departmental performance and areas for improvement.
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, supervise, and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage finances or budget, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and that the department operates within budget.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure transport compliance with regulations, including safety and security protocols.
    • Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods.
  • Negotiation and Communication
    • Negotiate for services and preferential rates with suppliers and partners.
    • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College/CEGEP degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
