Job Summary

The University of Lethbridge is seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of the technical services space in the Science Commons building. This is a full-time, two-year term position that offers 35 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily oversight and operation of the technical services space in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Manage and maintain a vast array of equipment, including woodworking, metalworking, welding, and electronics equipment.
  • Offer troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair services to all disciplines within the Faculty of Arts and Science.
  • Develop and oversee the equipment maintenance, safety, and training program for technical services.
  • Manage the financial aspects of technical services, including purchasing and inventory management, billing, and project tracking.

Requirements

  • College diploma/certificate in a relevant trade, such as carpentry, plumbing, millwright, or electronics/electrician.
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration and experience with financial management, protocol development, and training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
