Special Education Instructor for Diverse Learners

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Instructor to join our team at St.Amant. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Learning: Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized educational programs for small groups of students, ensuring that their educational goals are met through collaborative efforts with family members, coordinators, clinicians, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Program Management: Manage student educational programs, ensuring adherence to policies of St.Amant, Department of Education and Literacy, and external regulatory bodies, prioritizing individualized education services developed by each student's full interdisciplinary team.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work effectively within a participatory team approach, communicating professionally, timely, accurately, and ethically, maintaining confidentiality as required by legislation and program/service standards.
- Team Support: Provide direction and supervision to Instructional Assistants, ensure services provided are individualized, developmentally, and age-appropriate, reflecting state-of-the-art educational practices.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with Resident Care Coordinators, clinicians, and other team members to ensure coordination and integration of services, developing linkages and communication with students' family members or advocates.
Requirements:
- Education: An undergraduate degree in education, certified as a teacher by the Manitoba Department of Education and Training, formal training in special education an asset.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching students with developmental/intellectual disabilities, as a special education teacher, resource teacher, or regular classroom teacher, previous experience in an interdisciplinary school environment.
- Skills and Qualities: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a participatory team approach, excellent written and verbal skills, ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, superb interpersonal ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.

Salary Range:
$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
