Job Summary

Michif Child and Family Services (MCFS) is seeking a qualified Direct Service Worker to provide culturally sensitive support services to Metis and Inuit families in Manitoba. As a key member of our team, you will work under the supervision of the DSW Coordinator to develop and implement goal-oriented interventions to strengthen families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic housekeeping duties, including meal preparation and daily routines.
  • Monitor and assess television, video, and computer use, as well as administer medication as directed.
  • Document daily activities, including incident reports, menu planning, and daily logs.
  • Provide transportation, supervision, and support to families, including completing documentation and communicating treatment plans.
  • Consult with Social Workers and collaterals to assess and review goals and plans.
Requirements
  • CPR and Emergency First Aid certification.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Manitoba class 5F driver's license.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Metis Culture and Communities.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
