About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Drive Systems Lead Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead a wide range of engineering tasks and ensure proper installation, service, and commissioning of products and services.

The successful candidate will provide technical support for installation and commissioning of projects, perform maintenance, breakdown emergency support, and remote troubleshooting. They will also be responsible for developing requisite documentation, performing installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations, and executing on-site project management and technical leadership duties.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work unsupervised and lead small teams, develop presentations, and provide training and instruction to customers on drive operations. You will also coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSEs, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop requisite documentation to execute work, such as commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures, and daily logs.
  • Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations.
  • Be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams.
  • Execute on-site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction.
  • Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of the company's drive systems.
  • Develop presentations and provide training and instruction to customers on drive operations.
  • Coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSEs, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams.
  • Advise the customer of recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell company parts and services.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Able and willing to travel 85% of the time on short notice.
  • Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and organize work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals.
  • Perform work on-board vessels within Company/Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
  • Extended hours/overtime may be required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
  • Domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods of time.
  • Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore.
  • Must be able to pass a HUET and offshore survival course which includes activities in a swimming pool.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
