Job Overview

The Lead Field Service Engineer-Drives position at Core Group Resources offers a unique opportunity to work in the marine offshore market, finance, IT, renewables, and non-profit sectors. This role involves performing a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of company drive systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Perform on-site troubleshooting activities to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolutions, and implement corrective actions. Provide technical support for installation and commissioning of projects, including maintenance, breakdown emergency support, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Documentation and Installation: Develop requisite documentation to execute work, such as commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures, and daily logs. Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations.
  • Leadership and Project Management: Be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams. Execute on-site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction.
  • Engineering Tasks and Training: Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of the company drive systems. Develop presentations and provide training and instruction to customers on drive operations.
  • Customer Coordination and Advise: Coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE's, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams. Advise the customer of recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell company parts and services.
Requirements
  • Travel and Safety: Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice. Perform work on-board vessels within Company/Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
  • Physical Demands and Qualifications: Must be physically fit to board vessels offshore. Must be able to pass a HUET and offshore survival course, which includes activities in a swimming pool.
  • Work Environment: The work environment at onsite locations is of a construction type setting. Employees are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of trips, slips, and falls.
