About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist, Financial Reporting to join our Chief Financial Team at CMHC - SCHL. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial advice to management, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial records, and implementing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice to management on financial results, accounting policies, and complex accounting matters.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and complete accounting records and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review CMHC's annual consolidated financial statements, quarterly Financial Report, and other government reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and internal control.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Analysts and Specialists.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Professional accounting designation (minimum Chartered Professional Accountant).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience in financial reporting or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated work experience in designing and implementing new accounting policies, assessing impact, and writing complete memos on highly complex accounting matters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
