Aircraft Structural Technician

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structural Technician to join our team at the National Research Council Canada (NRC). As a key member of our Structural Integrity team, you will play a critical role in supporting applied research in the areas of structural full-scale testing, component testing, and material testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead practical test activities from test setup to test tear-down in the Structural Integrity Test Facility.
- Ensure that test specimens/aircraft are in the prescribed configuration for testing.
- Review inspection requirements and ensure that appropriate access to internal aircraft structure is provided.
- Carry out preparation of detailed instruction and parts breakdown illustration packages.
- Ensure that all mechanical loading systems are returned to test status and are functional.
- Certification and extensive experience as a Canadian Forces Aviation Systems Technician with expertise in aircraft structures, control surface removal, and installation.
- Experience working on airframe structures, aircraft flight control surface removal, installation, and rigging.
- Knowledge of Canadian Forces Technical Orders and pertinent specifications.
- Experience with machine shop equipment, practices, and quality control techniques.
- Significant experience in visual, close visual, and borescope inspections.
