Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Structural Technician to join our Structural Integrity team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading practical test activities, ensuring the integrity of aircraft structures, and collaborating with senior personnel and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead practical test activities from test set-up to test tear-down in the Structural Integrity Test Facility
  • Ensure the integrity of aircraft structures through inspection, testing, and analysis
  • Collaborate with senior personnel and external clients to achieve project goals
  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and protocols
  • Conduct visual, close visual, and borescope inspections of aircraft structures
  • Operate and maintain machine shop equipment and other fabrication equipment
  • Calibrate and maintain hydraulic systems, including actuators, servo valves, and pumps
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as a Canadian Forces Aviation Systems Technician or equivalent civilian experience
  • Expertise in aircraft structures, control surface removal and installation, and metal working
  • Knowledge of Canadian Forces Technical Orders and pertinent specifications
  • Experience with machine shop equipment, practices, and quality control techniques
  • Significant experience in calibration techniques and visual inspections
  • Experience working accurately from mechanical drawings and precision alignment
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and aircraft maintenance stands
Assets
  • Knowledge of composite materials and their applications
  • Experience with MTS servo hydraulic load frames and test control principles
  • Knowledge of cold working techniques used in aero applications

Compensation

$73,744 to $94,839 per annum
