Aircraft Structural Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Structural Technician to join our Structural Integrity team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading practical test activities, ensuring the integrity of aircraft structures, and collaborating with senior personnel and external clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead practical test activities from test set-up to test tear-down in the Structural Integrity Test Facility
- Ensure the integrity of aircraft structures through inspection, testing, and analysis
- Collaborate with senior personnel and external clients to achieve project goals
- Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and protocols
- Conduct visual, close visual, and borescope inspections of aircraft structures
- Operate and maintain machine shop equipment and other fabrication equipment
- Calibrate and maintain hydraulic systems, including actuators, servo valves, and pumps
- 7+ years of experience as a Canadian Forces Aviation Systems Technician or equivalent civilian experience
- Expertise in aircraft structures, control surface removal and installation, and metal working
- Knowledge of Canadian Forces Technical Orders and pertinent specifications
- Experience with machine shop equipment, practices, and quality control techniques
- Significant experience in calibration techniques and visual inspections
- Experience working accurately from mechanical drawings and precision alignment
- Experience operating overhead cranes and aircraft maintenance stands
- Knowledge of composite materials and their applications
- Experience with MTS servo hydraulic load frames and test control principles
- Knowledge of cold working techniques used in aero applications

$73,744 to $94,839 per annum
