Job Summary

The Wastewater Operations Specialist is responsible for operating a flush truck and performing duties as assigned to ensure completed work is delivered according to Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd.'s company policies and procedures, Alberta Occupational Health and Safety, and contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record deficiencies and report them to the foreman and an appropriate maintenance team member.
  • Operate a flush truck and other heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner while maintaining the unit's cleanliness and keeping a daily logbook in compliance with the Commercial Motor Vehicle Act.
  • Responsible for the safe and effective flushing of water, storm and sanitary pipes, and manholes.
  • Assist the Inspection Unit with daily activities, not limited to setting up of equipment, cleaning equipment, cleaning manholes, and traffic control.
  • Complete all required paperwork properly and in a timely manner.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, as well as routine maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Class 3Q Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Preferred minimum 1–3 years of experience operating a Flush or Water Truck.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, and OH&S requirements.
