Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager is a key member of the David Yurman retail team, responsible for driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences in our luxury retail stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Performance
    • Partner with sales professionals to achieve individual sales plans and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to meet sales budget targets.
    • Lead by example on the sales floor, driving client development and providing a high level of customer service.
    • Support sales professionals in closing sales and facilitating special events.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends to identify opportunities for sales growth.
    • Maintain visual presentation standards in line with company vision and market needs.
  • Clientele and Service Management
    • Coach and monitor sales professionals' client outreach and relationship development.
    • Ensure store data capture goals are met.
    • Maintain a luxury environment that is warm and hospitable, ensuring accurate interpretation and implementation of visual guidelines.
    • Provide feedback to staff to ensure they demonstrate the necessary skills for a positive client experience.
  • Operations
    • Manage day-to-day activities on the sales floor, maintaining presence to supervise staff and ensure adequate floor coverage.
    • Maintain business controls, including store inventory, stock replenishment requests, and repairs/returns.
    • Implement and support all security measures.
    • Partner with sales professionals on special order requests.
    • Oversee store opening and closing in the absence of the Retail Store Manager.
  • Talent Management
    • Partner with the Retail Store Manager in hiring and providing performance review feedback.
    • Train new Sales Associates.
    • Provide leadership to staff through regular meetings to review and coach on overall performance.
    • Offer formal and informal feedback to staff to build ongoing development opportunities.
    • Explain and enforce KPIs, ensuring staff is trending towards these measures.
    Requirements
    • Minimum 2-4+ years of proven experience managing in a similar role, preferably within a high-end luxury accessories boutique with joint responsibility for sales and operations.
    • Ability to motivate, establish strong business partnerships, and promote professionalism with both clients and staff.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proven ability to drive results and strategic vision to develop business.
    • Language skills (Spanish) are a plus.
    • Fine Jewelry and/or Fine Watch experience preferred, but not required.
    • Flexibility to work in various roles based on business needs (i.e., on the sales floor, operations, etc.).
    • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
