Project Engineer

Aversan Inc. is a reputable engineering company that provides expertise in systems integration, product design/development, and software/product testing for highly regulated industries.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering resources on various programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical coordination, work planning, and execution of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the Program Manager in meeting technical, schedule, and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day execution of the multi-disciplinary project team to meet technical and schedule requirements.
  • Apply and organize assigned resources to execute the work scope, identifying shortages or conflicts to the Program Manager.
  • Ensure ongoing project team coordination and communication across disciplines to achieve project objectives.
  • Coordinate intra-project activities with key support resources.
  • Manage integration and testing activities, including generation of test plans and procedures, coordination of GSE and test facilities, and timely release of documents.
  • Identify and manage customer and program risks and opportunities.
  • Support the Program Manager in negotiations with the customer regarding key requirements and objectives.
  • Assist with non-labor management, including monitoring Planning Engine generation and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Participate in regular program reviews, design reviews, audits, staff meetings, and other program meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance, direction, and decision-making to the program team.
  • Develop detailed schedules to track program progress, assess costs to date, and create work-around plans as required.
  • Prepare for monthly program reviews and briefings to senior management to maintain visibility of the program.
  • Maintain effective relationships with the customer through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in an engineering function in space, robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with team leadership, task estimating, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Methodology and development work in engineering application development.
  • Experience with the complete project life cycle and risk management.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and conflict management skills.
  • Willingness to work with external stakeholders and a strong aptitude for creative and innovative thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
