Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cultural Services Leader at the City of Delta. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing exceptional customer service and supporting the delivery of cultural programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Greet and welcome guests to the Discovery Centre, communicate with and support volunteers, and explain the facility and its features.
  • Reception Duties: Perform reception tasks, such as answering inquiries, responding to visitor and exhibitor requests, and opening and closing the facility.
  • Program Development: Promote self-guided tours, lead school and public programs, source content from exhibitors, and assist in facility, exhibit, and program promotions.
  • Exhibit Management: Assist with exhibit set up and take down, perform minor janitorial maintenance, and maintain the cleanliness of the archives and vault.
  • Special Events: Assist with planning and preparation, set up and take down, and provide input to program planning and development.
  • Collection Management: Process and digitize collection items, and pack and unpack artifacts.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia, First Aid Certificate, CPR Level C, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training Certificate.
  • Education: Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses related to arts, culture, and heritage, and some related experience working in a recreational or cultural services setting.
