Job Summary
The Prince George Native Friendship Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Coordinator to oversee our Native Healing Centre. This is a full-time position responsible for delivering culturally grounded, holistic, 1:1 counselling support services to community members.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of effective, Indigenous-led wellness services that are trauma-informed, client-centered, and focused on healing the mind, body, and spirit.
- Supervise a team of counsellors and support staff to ensure high-quality services are provided to clients.
- Develop and implement programs and services that meet the unique cultural, social, and health needs of Indigenous peoples.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination.
- Manage budgets, funding, and reporting processes within the non-profit organization.
- Provide employee feedback, scheduling, and crisis intervention support to staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's level education from a recognized university in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Indigenous studies, or another relevant discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the health, wellness, or social services sector, with a focus on counseling or mental health services.
- Experience working within Indigenous communities or organizations and deep understanding of the unique cultural, social, and health needs of Indigenous peoples.
- Specialized training in trauma-informed care, Indigenous mental health, substance use counseling, or crisis intervention is an asset.
- Certification in or willing to obtain: First Aid, Suicide Intervention, and Conflict Resolution, Naloxone Training, other training as needed.
- Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search.
