About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Solar Estimating Student to join our Solar District team. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of estimates for solar construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates for solar construction projects
  • Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimators or Chief Estimators
  • Perform assigned quantity surveys
  • Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing
  • Transfer quantities to lead estimators
  • Perform general subtrade solicitation duties
  • Bid document control
  • Perform bid day assignments
  • Develop relationships with subcontractors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting
