Fortinet is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Engineer to join their team in Ottawa. As an IT Support Engineer, you will provide technical support for Fortinet internal users via various channels and resolve technical problems with computer systems, networks, IP phones, software, and hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide timely and effective technical support to internal users via email, phone, tickets, and in-person
  2. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  3. Create phone extensions and configure IP phones
  4. Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless network, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and IP phone systems
  5. Configure, encrypt, and troubleshoot Linux/Windows/MacOS desktops and laptops
  6. Manage user accounts and permissions in business systems
  7. Respond to assigned tickets and requests within business-defined service level agreements

We Are Looking for:

  1. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  2. Excellent customer service skills
  3. Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VoIP, Exchange, Linux, MacOS, and Windows
  4. Experience in Desktop/Laptop/Server hardware/software installation and troubleshooting
  5. Helpful and responsive while balancing issue priorities
  6. Detail-oriented, high-energy individual who is able to multitask
  7. Ability and willingness to learn
  8. A diploma or degree in Computer Systems, Information Technologies, Networking, or related fields

Fortinet offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role:

This role offers a great chance to join a team of talented engineers working on cutting-edge and highly secure IT systems, as well as providing help to end-users. The position will also give you the chance to gain exposure to a wide range of technologies.

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $95,000 based on industry standards and cost of living in Ottawa.
