About the Role

The Century Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at The Wexford, a retirement living residence in Tsawwassen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the daily preparation and cooking of meals and nourishments from a menu and recipes set by the Executive Chef.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality menu items, ensuring a high standard of food quality and service.
  • Operate cooking equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assist in maintaining quality assurance standards, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with management, staff, residents, and the public, promoting positive relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Diploma from a recognized cooking school.
  • Preferred experience in a recognized establishment.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • Red Seal Certificate is a definite asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak and understand English competently.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties required for the position.
