As a key member of our Operations team at Johnson Electric, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will work closely with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design Services to optimize and upgrade production equipment, driving continuous improvement and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new or modified production machines, ensuring seamless integration with new manufacturing projects.
  • Maintain operational quality and efficiency targets, guaranteeing the highest standards in equipment performance and maintenance.
  • Ensure all levels of safety are implemented into each automation change, upholding our commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Maintain Quality Operating Systems, adhering to ISO/IATF 16949 standards for equipment documentation and record retention.
  • Develop and implement improvements in machine maintainability and reliability, driving business success and employee satisfaction.
  • Work in compliance with Johnson Electric's Quality, Safety & Environmental Operating Systems, upholding our values and standards.
  • Assist in materials acquisition, implementation, and inventory control for machine wears and spares, ensuring efficient production processes.
  • Support the implementation of Automotive Operating Systems, including APQP, PPAP, and QOS, as per ISO/IATF 16949 standards, focusing on Facilities Engineering and machine program libraries.
  • Develop PLC and motion-based machine logic programs, driving innovation and efficiency in our production processes.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Facilities management to drive ongoing process continuous improvement, ensuring our equipment and processes meet the highest standards.

Requirements:

  • A technical diploma in engineering technology or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on technical skills in mechanical assembly, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, PLC, and CNC-based control and logic systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in the hands-on repair and maintenance of CNC machining and automated assembly applications in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/IATF 16949 operating systems.
  • Excellent communications, negotiating, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to redesign and engineer machine components to improve equipment performance.
  • Proficiency in related software.
  • Capable of specifying and sourcing materials and equipment to best suit requirements.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls and robotics and the programming of same.
