Mechanical Assembly and Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembly and Automation Specialist to join our team at Johnson Electric Group. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment.
Job SummaryThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in mechanical assembly, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, PLC and CNC-based control and logic systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assembling, debugging, installing, and starting up new or modified production equipment
- Maintaining equipment documentation systems and ensuring compliance with ISO/IATF 16949 standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize and upgrade production equipment
- Developing and implementing solutions to improve equipment performance and efficiency
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Report to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor and work closely with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design Services to achieve shared goals
- Implement new or modified production machines as part of new manufacturing projects
- Ensure operational quality and efficiency targets are met
- Develop and maintain quality operating systems related to equipment documentation and record retention
- Work in compliance with Johnson Electric FPS Quality, Safety & Environmental Operating Systems
- Assist in materials acquisition and implementation, as well as inventory control for all machine wears and spares
- Develop PLC and motion-based machine logic programs
- Perform run at rate process performance testing in conjunction with manufacturing operations
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A technical diploma in engineering technology or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Hands-on technical skills in mechanical assembly, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, PLC and CNC-based control and logic systems
- Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/IATF 16949 operating systems
- Ability to redesign/engineer machine components to improve equipment performance
- Proficiency in related software
