About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Estimating Student to join our team in the Toronto District, within our Canadian Buildings Division. As a student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by performing quantity surveys, reviewing estimating manuals, and developing relationships with subcontractors.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize PCL's estimating manuals, systems, and forms to perform quantity surveys and transfer quantities to lead estimators.
  • Review quantity survey assignments with lead estimators or Chief Estimators.
  • Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing.
  • Perform general subtrade solicitation duties and assist with bid document control.
  • Contribute to bid day assignments and develop relationships with subcontractors.
  • Visit job sites periodically to gain hands-on experience.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting, will be required.
