Job Title: Industrial Mechanic and Millwright

First Hire inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic and Millwright to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced industrial environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in areas with heavy machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install mechanical equipment and stationary industrial machinery
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
  • Install and operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Requirements
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
  • Experience with conveyor systems, fans and blowers, gas compressors, heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, press brakes and metalworking equipment, pumps and compressors, tool grinders, and welding equipment
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in areas with heavy machinery
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
