Job Title: Research Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in the coordination of clinical trials, nursing care, and education of patients participating in research studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the study interventions, nursing care, and monitoring of patients participating in clinical trials.
  • Provide nursing care that meets the individual needs of study patients, including physical assessment, administering medications and treatments, and teaching and counseling patients and their families.
  • Support department/program staff regarding studies and act as a resource to nurses when patients are enrolled in a study.
  • Advises/teaches nursing staff in clinic and treatment areas on specialized theory and practice related to study activities.
  • Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of study protocols.

Requirements:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years of recent related clinical nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Certification in oncology nursing is required (or must obtain certification within one year of employment).
